Total renovation of Grade II Listed Cottage and Garden
This derelict cottage was completely renovated into a beautiful and comfortable home with all
the high tech conveniences of modern life tucked out of sight. The stone and quarry tile floor was
removed to install under floor heating throughout, and then reinstated. The coal shed was rebuilt as a
glass walled room also incorporating laundry room and downstairs cloakroom. The spacious en-suite
Master bedroom occupies the whole of the first floor. The vaulted ceiling upstairs is a nice contrast
to the low beamed ceilings on the ground floor.

The garden was reshaped into three levels. The middle level, the patio/drive, was paved
with very large reclaimed Portland stones. These same stones were used to create two broad
stairs up onto the orchard level. To compliment the existing hedgerow and ancient apple orchard, the
upper level was planted with traditional shrubs, and lots of spring and summer bulbs. The paved area is
dotted with stone planters containing animal shaped topiary.
